A free, accredited online training tool has been launched by WRAP to help businesses across England save up to £1,000 per employee by improving the way they manage their resources.
'On Course for Zero Waste' provides free training modules, templates, case studies and other support material to give companies the skills and tools they need to improve the financial and environmental performance of their organisation. Users can also enhance their CVs with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and two course certificates accredited by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management.
The tool can be found on WRAP's new online advice centre, the Business Resource Efficiency Hub. The Hub, which features a suite of online tools, including an interactive tour and a range of training courses, was developed to give all kinds of small and medium sized enterprises the skills they need to prevent waste and save money.
Carl Nichols, Head of Business and Markets at WRAP, said:
"Businesses that improve their resource efficiency can play a pivotal role in delivering economic growth and environmental benefits to the UK,"The tools enable businesses to get started on making savings quickly by providing free, step-by-step advice including training modules, ready-to-use templates, checklists and help to develop a waste prevention plan – all supported by a telephone helpline.
"Our comprehensive range of tools and advice can help companies in England grab a slice of the £23 billion of total savings available if UK businesses improve resource efficiency, while also helping to create and protect jobs."
In addition to 'On Course for Zero Waste', companies can find other tools on the Hub, for example, the Rippleffect support package to help improve water efficiency. And 'Green Town' is an engaging and visually appealing interactive tour with sector specific tips to help businesses see at a glance how they can start to save money by reducing waste.
Mr Nichols added:
"The Hub offers all the information a business needs to take quick and easy steps to cutting waste and boosting profitability,"Businesses can find out more by visiting http://www.wrap.org.uk/brehub or calling the free WRAP Resource Efficiency Helpline on 0808 100 2040.
"Businesses can also find a one-stop shop for best practice guides covering a variety of subjects, from introductory information on resource efficiency, through to water efficiency, advice for managers and how to secure support from colleagues. Companies can also generate their own tailored guide to resource efficiency in a few minutes by using our e-publication tool.
"Whether companies need help on where to begin their resource efficiency journey, or more advanced guidance, the tools and guides have been grouped to cater for their knowledge of the topic,"
