Whitegoods Trade Association was convened at the Coventry Hilton (February 24) with an impressive show of 150+ attendees. The attendance was a mixture of WTA members together with other delegates showing support from Appliance Manufacturing Companies, Producer Compliance Schemes, Work Providing Agencies, A notable Web Media Writer, Training Suppliers, & Appliance Wholesalers.
Exhibitors at the 2012 conference were joined by companies wanting to show that the UK appliance repair trade and their associates have their sights aimed at improving the way they deal with todays environmental issues. Whilst both Wastepack and Birmingham based company 'World of Recycling' promoted their WEEE services to the WTA members and other delegates, Dixon Training who promoted training and training software showed pride in the intergration a of recycling tutorial into the software.

Speakers at the event included Ian Dales from Dales-Electronic who was speaking on behalf of the WTA with regard to the availability of a new City & Guilds qualifications in Refrigeration Repair sponsored jointly by WTA, Amica, and Liebherr; Kenneth Watt of UK Whitegoods, displaying and describing new software being made available to engineers to assist with the automation of their daily tasks; A representative of British Gas who spoke to the members at length regarding the subject of appliance repair and British Gas as a work provider; John Hopwood from the appliance manufacturing firm ISE, who spoke to the delegates regarding Customer Service Targets and Customer Feedback of Appliance Engineers.
Speaking after the event, the organisers of the conference indicated their delight and astonishment at the shear level of increased interest shown by all who attended and also by exhibitors... The applications of a number of prospective exhibitors were unfortunately declined due to the unavailability of stands.
